This week is National Apprenticeship Week 2024,where we celebrate the high-quality opportunities that are now available across the country. In Uxbridge & South Ruislip, the Conservative Government have delivered 8,520 apprenticeship starts since 2010.
The Conservatives also announced a new teaching apprenticeship as part of our plan to encourage more people to become teachers as we deliver on our long-term plan to ensure a better education and a brighter future for our children.
Following our important reforms to education boosting results and ensuring we have the best readers in the Western world, we have announced a new teacher apprenticeship pathway as part of National Apprenticeship Week. Over 70 per cent of careers are now accessible via an apprenticeship and our new teaching degree apprenticeship will enable people to get into teaching while they are still earning with fully-funded tuition so they are not saddled with student debt.
We are sticking to the plan, delivering over 5.7 million apprenticeships since 2010 as we continue to deliver long-term reforms to education and training, delivering a brighter future for the whole country.
Meanwhile Labour can't say how they would boost apprenticeships because they don't have a plan - the only idea they've come up with would halve the number of apprenticeships, holding back our young people.
