Building the new Hillingdon Hospital and improving local healthcare services.
I continue to have meetings with the redevelopment team at Hillingdon Hospital on the progress of building a new hospital for the residents of Uxbridge and South Ruislip. This hospital was where I was born, my children were born, and it is the place that has helped myself, my family and friends. It means a lot to me that we deliver on the hospital that was kick-started by my predecessor. This means a bigger A&E and world class healthcare for local people.
My time as an MP has allowed me to welcome the Secretary of State for Health, Victoria Atkins, who got to see first-hand the funding that is needed to ensure that the hospital can be built.
Re-opening Uxbridge Police Station and with a custody suite and front counter.
Since my by-election victory, I have been asking the Labour Mayor of London to re-open Uxbridge Police Station with a full-custody suite and 24/7 counter. Sadiq Khan ignores my letters to him, and refuses to listen to the residents of Uxbridge and South Ruislip. However, if I am re-elected as MP I will continue to be your voice, and continue to push forward your needs to the London Mayor.
Supporting new schemes for apprenticeships and other work opportunities for young people.
Uxbridge and South Ruislip is booming with opportunities for young people. Whether it is for a big company, or a leading college, or a start-up business, I want to ensure the youth of Uxbridge and South Ruislip have an opportunity at their doorstep. Especially when we are the home of Brunel University, educating world-class students, and have the likes of Coca-Cola's Europacific Partners HQ here, who I have met and continue to hold discussions with.
Improving our High Streets and supporting local businesses.
I’ve worked in corporate business at the Royal Mail depot in Uxbridge, and my first job was at Tesco's in Yiewsley. I know what it is like to run your own local business too, as I have my own at TX Associates. I want every entrepreneur to have the chance to start their own business and excel. My continued work with Hillingdon Chamber of Commerce allows me to support local businesses, and ensure our high streets are bustling with innovation. Whether it is the food distributors General Mills HQ, to technical tools at Mills Ltd, if I am re-elected as your MP, I will continue to work with business leaders and innovators to keep our local economy growing.
Protecting our precious green spaces and opposing Labour's housing targets.
Hillingdon is one of the greenest boroughs of London. Our green spaces are not only used by our children to run around in and enjoy parks, but it’s there for our wildlife to flourish. It’s there to encourage communities such as the Proper Blokes Club to arrange mindful walks to raise awareness for mental health, and it is there for dog-walks and for catch-ups with friends and families. I will ensure more trees are planted, and more social awareness is happening in order to reduce fly-tipping and waste being littered.
Providing extra upgrades in schools to expand SEND (Special Educational Needs Development) places and give children the best possible education.
I have held a Westminster debate on SEND and it is one of my priorities as the local MP. I am backing record investment in local schools so that children get the best start to their education and opportunity to learn. As a previous school governor, I know what families with special educational needs ask for and I am here to serve them. My time as MP has allowed be to build relationships with schools such as Hillingdon Manor, but also charities such as SeeAbility, who help SEND schools.
