I attended the Natspec: The Voice of Specialist Education Parliamentary drop-in, where I heard about their manifesto which focused on ensuring further education (FE) providers have access to sufficient funding to enable them to deliver high quality learning programmes for young people with different levels of need.
Natspec explained that the characteristics of a high-functioning FE system involves: learning that matches SEND needs, a range of providers, sufficient staff, effectively administers funding, a comprehensive understanding of FE and the needs of 16-25 year olds with SEND in every local area and post-college opportunities.
I support Natspec, which is why I am backing their vision, I will continue talks and debates, as well as highlight the importance of SEND FE and specialist colleges.
I also was warmly introduced to Evie from Orchard Hill in Uxbridge who focuses on getting more people with disabilities in employment. I look forward to working together, with both Orchard Hill and Natspec to ensure SEND FE gets all the support they need to provide exceptional education to disabled youth across Uxbridge and South Ruislip and beyond.
