Supporting local businesses and our high streets is one of my main priorities. A key part of this is having strong relationships with businesses of all sizes across Uxbridge & South Ruislip. There are few businesses bigger than Coca Cola, who have their headquarters based in the heart of Uxbridge.
At a recent visit, it was a pleasure to be hosted by Stephen Moorhouse (VP & GM) and his team who shared valuable insight into the work that Coca Cola is undertaking with regards to packaging and recycling; health and the debate around ultra processed foods, including high fats, salts and sugars and developments around their supply chain.
Importantly, Coca Cola are a major employer in Uxbridge where they were able to share their ideas on how apprenticeships are supported and how they plan to engage with local schools, colleges and Brunel University.
During the visit, I was also updated on some challenges around product labelling and transport difficulties around vehicle weight capacities. Coca Cola HQ has my full support and I will take their concerns to the chamber when I can.
